The core of the plastic pipe extrusion process lies in the screw pushing the molten plastic through the die, coupled with sizing, cooling, and pulling steps to achieve continuous production. Key control parameters include:

1. Temperature: Temperature is a crucial condition for a smooth extrusion process. It primarily affects the fluidity and plasticization of the plastic melt. Excessively high temperatures can cause plastic degradation, while excessively low temperatures can lead to poor plasticization.

2. Pressure: During the extrusion process, a certain amount of pressure is generated within the plastic along the barrel axis due to material flow resistance, variations in screw groove depth, and obstructions such as filters, filter plates, and the die. This pressure is a crucial condition for the plastic to be formed into parts. Increasing die head pressure can improve the mixing uniformity and stability of the extruded melt, increasing the density of the product. However, excessive die head pressure can affect production output.

3. Extrusion speed: Extrusion speed is the mass of plastic extruded or the length of the part per unit time. It reflects production capacity. Many factors influence extrusion speed, including the die, screw, and barrel structure, screw speed, heating and cooling system structure, and the properties of the plastic. Once the extruder structure, plastic type, and part type are confirmed, extrusion speed is solely dependent on screw speed. Therefore, adjusting screw speed is the primary method for controlling extrusion speed.

4. Pulling Speed: The pulling speed must be adjustable, steplessly and smoothly, ensuring a constant pulling speed. Unstable pulling speed can cause the pipe to fluctuate. Pulling speed should be closely coordinated with extrusion speed, and pipe wall thickness can be adjusted by adjusting the pulling speed. Slower pulling speeds result in thicker pipe walls; faster pulling speeds result in thinner pipe walls.
