There is no fixed, uniform value for the PEEK plastic injection molding cycle. The core factors affecting the PEEK plastic injection molding cycle can be mainly divided into the following categories:

1. Material and Product Structure Factors:

PEEK itself has low thermal conductivity and a slow cooling rate. The larger the product thickness, the longer the cooling time required, which directly and significantly extends the overall molding cycle. Simultaneously, the flowability of PEEK also affects mold filling efficiency; poor flowability requires a longer filling time.

2. Mold Design Factors:

A reasonable layout of the cooling system is crucial. Cooling channels close to the cavity and evenly distributed, combined with an efficient circulating cooling structure, can significantly improve cooling efficiency and shorten the cycle. Furthermore, excessively small gate size and excessively long runners will increase melt flow resistance, prolong filling time, and slow down the overall cycle time.

3. Process Parameter Factors:

Too slow an injection speed will directly prolong the filling time, increasing the overall cycle time. Excessively high back pressure settings will slow down the screw retraction speed, prolonging the pre-plasticizing storage time. Unreasonable holding pressure time and excessively long mold opening/ejection strokes will also additionally increase the molding cycle time.

4. Equipment and Supporting Factors:

Insufficient hydraulic system pressure and aging equipment in injection molding machines can limit screw feed speed and slow down mold filling and pre-plasticizing efficiency; insufficient temperature control accuracy of the mold temperature controller can also indirectly affect the cooling rhythm and lengthen the molding cycle.
