Plastic sheet extrusion process is a processing method that uses a screw or plunger to push molten plastic through a specific die to form a continuous sheet with a constant cross-section. Key process parameters are as follows:

1. Temperature: The temperature of the molten plastic is crucial for the smooth operation of the extrusion process. Temperature primarily originates from the heater outside the barrel and the frictional heat generated during mixing within the barrel. Temperature control needs to be adjusted according to the type of plastic and the sheet thickness to ensure complete melting and prevent excessive degradation.

2. Pressure: During extrusion, pressure is generated inside the plastic due to resistance to the material flow, changes in screw groove depth, and obstructions from filters, filter plates, and dies. Increasing die pressure can improve the mixing uniformity and stability of the extruded melt, but excessive pressure will affect output.

3. Extrusion Speed: The mass of plastic extruded per unit time or the length of the extruded part represents the production capacity. Extrusion speed is affected by factors such as the structure of the die, screw, and barrel, the screw speed, the structure of the heating and cooling system, and the properties of the plastic. Given a fixed extruder structure, plastic type, and part type, the extrusion speed is mainly related to the screw speed.

4. Traction Speed: The traction speed must match the extrusion speed to ensure the dimensional stability and quality of the sheet. Typically, the traction speed is slightly greater than the extrusion speed; the ratio of traction speed to extrusion speed is called the traction ratio, and its value must be greater than or equal to 1.
