The Future Development Trend of Plastic Molds
(1) The increasing enlargement of mold forming parts and the high productivity of parts require the first mock examination with multiple cavities, which leads to the increasing enlargement of molds. Large molds with large tonnage can reach 100 tons. the first mock examination has hundreds of cavities and thousands of cavities. It requires mold processing equipment with large workbench, increased travel of y-axis and z-axis, large bearing capacity, high rigidity and high consistency
(2) The mold steel material used for mold processing has high hardness, requiring mold processing equipment to have thermal stability and high reliability.
(3) For complex cavities and multifunctional composite molds, as the shape of the parts becomes more complex, it is necessary to improve the design and manufacturing level of the molds. Multi functional composite molds with multiple grooves and materials formed or assembled into components in one set of molds require a large amount of programming, advanced hole cavity comprehensive cutting ability, and high stability, which increases the difficulty of processing.
(4) The refinement of mold processing has attracted more attention to the complexity and high efficiency of processing equipment. The many advantages of high-speed milling, such as the ability to process high hardness materials, smooth processing, low cutting force, and small workpiece temperature deformation, have led mold companies to increasingly attach importance to high-speed machining.
(5) High dynamic accuracy. The static performance introduced by machine tool manufacturing enterprises cannot reflect the actual processing situation during the three-dimensional surface machining of molds. The high-precision machining of three-dimensional surfaces of molds also requires high dynamic precision performance. High speed and high precision can only be achieved by combining the high rigidity, thermal stability, high reliability, and high-quality control system of the machine tool.
