60% of China's Plastic Daily Necessities are Manufactured in Taizhou, Zhejiang

Plastic daily necessities can be said to be ubiquitous in our daily lives. But what people may not know is that 60% of plastic daily necessities in China are manufactured by private enterprises in Taizhou, Zhejiang. This afternoon, the organizing committee of the 11th China Plastics Fair and the Taizhou Municipal People's Government held a press conference. Ge Changxuan, Deputy Secretary General of the Taizhou Municipal People's Government, introduced the relevant situation of the 11th China Plastics Fair to the attending reporters.

According to Ge Changxuan, since China's reform and opening up, Taizhou has created the "Taizhou phenomenon" characterized by "private led and government driven" through flexible private mechanisms and the Taizhou humanistic spirit of "daring to take risks, being tough, being good at creation, and not being ostentatious". As a pillar industry of the Taizhou regional economy, the plastic industry originated in the 1950s. After more than half a century of development, it has formed a complete plastic industry chain from plastic mold and plastic machinery manufacturing to plastic product production, raw material trade, and product sales, creating a miracle in the history of China's plastic industry development. Taizhou has been known as the "Kingdom of Plastic Products in China".

The reporter learned that currently, there are over 10000 plastic production enterprises and more than 2000 mold production enterprises in Taizhou. The total output of plastic daily necessities ranks first in China, accounting for more than 60% of the total output in China. In addition, the market share of daily plastic products, disposable syringes, disposable infusion sets, etc. also ranks first in China, and the main plastic parts of electric bicycles produced in Taizhou account for more than 80% of the market share in China. Taizhou has become an important production base for plastic products in China.

Relying on the traditional advantages of Taizhou's plastic industry and its commercial radiation, Taizhou began hosting the China Plastics Fair in 2001. After 10 years of development, the China Plastics Fair has become a comprehensive showcase of the status of China's plastics industry. The exhibition pattern of the "four in one" plastics industry chain, including raw materials, products, machinery, machine tools, and molds, has become increasingly mature. It is one of the earliest "four in one" industry exhibitions in China's plastics industry.

It is reported that the 11th China Plastics Fair will be held from September 22nd to 24th, with more than 500 participating companies from home and abroad. (End)
