Thermoplastic injection molding is a processing technology that melts thermoplastic plastic by heating it, then injects it under high pressure into a closed mold cavity, and finally cools and solidifies it to obtain a product of a specific shape. The following is about the principle and process of thermoplastic injection molding:

1. Molding Principle:

Thermoplastic injection molding utilizes the movement of a screw or plunger in an injection molding machine to inject heated and plasticized viscous plastic from the barrel into a pre-closed mold cavity at high pressure and speed. After the plastic cools and hardens in the mold cavity, it becomes the desired product.

2. Molding Process:

The entire process of thermoplastic injection molding is a cyclical process. Each molding cycle includes the following steps:

Quantitative Feeding: Granular or powdered solid plastic is fed from the hopper of the injection molding machine into the heated barrel.

Melting and Plasticizing: The plastic is heated and melted in the barrel, becoming fluid.

Pressure Injection: Driven by the screw or plunger, the molten plastic passes through a nozzle at the end of the barrel and is injected into a cooler, closed mold.

Molding and Pressure Holding: The molten material filling the mold, under pressure, cools and solidifies, thus maintaining the shape assigned by the mold cavity.

Cooling: The molten material cools and gradually solidifies within the mold.

Demolding and Part Removal: The mold is opened, the part is removed, and one molding cycle is completed.
