How long Does it Take to Design and Manufacture Injection Molds?
When the editor frequently discusses cooperation with clients, they often ask: How long does it take for you to design and produce an injection mold? I believe everyone has experienced this issue before. In fact, a large part of the time required for mold design depends on the length of the mold production time, so we cannot make a generalized conclusion!
So now, the editor will share with you how long it takes to design and produce a good injection mold?
How long does it take to design and manufacture a perfect injection mold?
In general, the design and production time of molds depends on the time of mold production. In summary, there are two influencing factors: ① the difficulty level of plastic molds ② the quantity ordered by customers at once
1. The quantity ordered by the customer in one go
Why does the quantity of a customer's one-time order affect the time required for injection mold design and processing? I don't understand. In fact, the more customers order at once, the more cavity films we produce, and the longer the time required for plastic mold design and production.
This can make production faster, reduce unnecessary cost losses, and make each product relatively cheaper. If the customer's one-time order quantity is too small, the production time will be shortened, and the time for plastic mold design and production will be much less.
2. The complexity of the process for designing and manufacturing plastic injection molds
The complexity of the process refers to the difficulty level of the injection mold samples provided by the customer. Generally, it can be explained as follows: the more complex the plastic mold model provided by the customer, the more difficult the design and manufacturing process of the injection mold, and the greater the processing difficulty, resulting in a correspondingly longer production time for the plastic mold.
3. Process of membrane testing
After the completion of the injection mold design and molding, we will have a testing process called film testing. Assuming that the injection mold process is very responsible, the corresponding quality level will also decrease, resulting in the trial mold process not passing at once and requiring a new design and production. Therefore, the time for designing and manufacturing the injection mold will also be correspondingly extended.
The above are some factors that affect the design and production time of injection molds summarized by the editor. Simply put, a good injection mold design and production takes about 30 days to complete. As long as the mold production is completed, the remaining steps will be much simpler, and injection mold design and manufacturing will also save a lot of time. If the customer is not in a hurry, it can be completed and inspected in about a week. If any special circumstances occur, the company should also have strict protective measures to ensure delivery within the specified time period!
