Common Classification of Plastic Forming Process
Plastic forming process is to use tools or molds to make materials produce plastic deformation under the action of external forces, so as to obtain specific shapes and mechanical properties. The following is a detailed introduction from the common classification:
Injection molding: Relying on injection molding machines and molds, thermoplastic or thermosetting plastics are plasticized and injected into the mold cavity, and then cooled and solidified. Suitable for the production of products with complex shapes and precise dimensions.
Extrusion molding: Thermoplastic plastics are continuously extruded through an extruder, and products are formed through a specific shape of the die. Mainly used for the production of pipes, rods, wires, plates, films, etc.
Blow molding: Thermoplastic resin is extruded or injection molded into a tubular plastic preform, and then it is placed in a split mold while hot (or heated to a softened state). After closing the mold, compressed air is introduced to inflate the plastic preform on the inner wall of the mold, and the mold is demolded after cooling to obtain a hollow product.
Thermoforming: The flat plastic hard sheet is softened by heating, and it is attached to the mold surface by vacuum adsorption force, and then formed into the desired shape after cooling.
Compression molding: Powdered, granular or fibrous plastics are placed in the mold cavity, and the mold is closed and pressurized at the molding temperature to solidify the plastic. Applicable to thermosetting plastics and rubber materials.
Qingdao Xueyu Molding Products Co., Ltd. is mainly engaged in the design and manufacturing of injection molds, injection molding and secondary processing (spraying, pad printing, ultrasonic welding, stamping), etc. For more information about plastic forming process, please contact us.
