How to Optimize Polymer Injection Molding Process
Polymer injection molding is currently the mainstream core process for mass production of plastic products. The polymer injection molding process can be systematically optimized from multiple dimensions to balance quality and cost control:
1. Raw Material Optimization: Prioritize the use of suitable high-flowability raw materials, rationally control the polymer molecular weight distribution, and use compliant proportions of clean recycled materials to reduce raw material costs and minimize appearance defects such as flow marks and silver streaks while ensuring performance.
2. Mold Optimization: Use CAE mold flow analysis to simulate melt filling in advance, optimize the balanced runner and cooling water channel design, and use hot runner structures to reduce waste and shorten molding cycles, fundamentally reducing problems such as uneven filling and deformation.
3. Process Parameter Optimization: Control the plastic temperature within the recommended material range, adopt a segmented control logic of fast filling + low-pressure shrinkage compensation, ensure continuous holding pressure until gate closure, stabilize the cooling rate, and avoid efficiency losses caused by repeated machine adjustments.
4. Low-cost equipment optimization: Select injection molding machines with appropriate tonnage, ensure proper equipment insulation and routine maintenance, reduce unnecessary energy waste, establish a parameter database, and use the DOE method to lock in the optimal process range to achieve long-term stable production.
