How Long Does SR Injection Molding Take?

SR injection molding specifically refers to the injection molding process for stress-relief protective sleeves at the cable ends. By encapsulating the cable end with injection molding, it improves the bending and tensile strength of the connection, preventing cable breakage at the root. The complete SR injection molding cycle can be divided into the following parts:

1. Mold filling stage: For typical small SR parts, mold filling takes only 2-4 seconds, with the melt quickly filling the mold cavity to prevent premature cooling of the soft plastic material.

2. Holding pressure stage: For ordinary consumer electronics SR parts, holding pressure takes 5-15 seconds; for automotive-grade thick-walled SR parts, it needs to be extended to 15-30 seconds to eliminate shrinkage marks and ensure structural density.

3. Cooling stage: Cooling time for standard parts is 10-25 seconds; the cooling time for TPE soft plastic materials is slightly shorter, while for hard plastic thick-walled parts, it needs to be appropriately extended.

4. Auxiliary operations: Mold opening and closing, manual/automatic wire arrangement, and part removal take a total of 8-15 seconds.

After comprehensive integration, the molding cycle of ordinary consumer electronics SR is about 25~50 seconds per mold, and the molding cycle of automotive-grade high-precision thick-walled SR is about 40~70 seconds per mold. The multi-cavity mold can significantly improve the output efficiency per unit time.
