China FAW Group Corporation (formerly known as FAW), abbreviated as "FAW", has the corporate brand "China FAW". On July 15, 1953, the First Automobile Manufacturing Plant broke ground, marking the beginning of China's automobile industry. On June 28, 2011, in accordance with the requirements of the State owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, China FAW underwent a restructuring of its main business and established China FAW Corporation Limited.
